Martha’s Vineyard Air Charter arranges private flights to the island, whether you are coming for a long weekend in Edgartown or a whole summer up-island. An advisor will take your call at 1-888-987-5387, or you can describe the trip in the form below.
What to tell us
Tell us where you are flying from, the dates you want to arrive and leave, how many people are coming, and what they are bringing. A family arriving for the summer may bring pets, bicycles, fishing rods and far more luggage than a weekend guest, and all of it affects the aircraft we look at. It also helps to know where on the island you are staying, whether that is Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven or somewhere up-island, so your advisor can help arrange a car to meet you. If this is your first private flight, say so, and your advisor will explain how it all works.
Which airports you will fly between
The island has one airport, Martha’s Vineyard Airport (KMVY/MVY), so the choice that matters is at the other end of the trip. From New York, the usual departure points are Teterboro Airport (KTEB/TEB) and Westchester County Airport (KHPN/HPN), depending on where you live. From Boston, it is Laurence G. Hanscom Field (KBED/BED) in Bedford, and if you are already on the Cape, you can leave from Cape Cod Gateway Airport (KHYA/HYA) in Hyannis. Your advisor will compare them for your aircraft and your home address, and confirm with the operator that the aircraft suits the island airport on your dates.
What happens next
We come back with the aircraft that suit the trip and the name of the certified operator for each, before you commit to anything. Under DOT Part 295, when we book a flight as your agent rather than as the operator, we put it in writing. Your advisor handles the booking from the first call to your landing on the island, and the flight home too. Most of the Vineyard’s charter traffic comes between June and September, so call early for a summer trip.
